Owning a piece of virtual real estate on the internet is not rocket science. Don’t let the technical mumbo-jumbo scares you from doing it. It is easier than you think. I will assume that you already have a cool niche you want to go into or have seen a website that you would like to emulate. If you don’t have a niche yet or don’t have any idea how to go about finding one, I will point you to the right direction later. Anyway, I want to cut to the chase and go straight to the techie stuff. This is where the wheel meets the road.
I know you’re itching to get started, so look over my shoulder as I create a website from scratch. In this exercise, I will use www.militarymodellingshop.com domain name to create a Plastic Modelling Shopping Mall website.
Buying a domain name in Namecheap.com is straight-forward easy. The service is great and their live support is competent enough to handle any domain related issues. Follow the pictorial steps below to buy your very first domain name. (Expert webmasters can skip this and go straight to the meaty stuff.)
In Namecheap.com home page, do a Domain Name Search to check if your domain name is available. Choose a domain name of 2 or 3 keywords to make your niche highly targetted. Click on the Add To Cart button to add the domain name to the shopping cart.
Use a namecheap coupon to get $0.88 discount off the regular price for all new domains. Namecheap coupon: SUMMERTIME
Enter the coupon code and hit the Apply Coupon button to get your discount.
Using a valid coupon code will show a discount deducted from the regular price. Click the Standard Checkout button to begin the checkout process.
